OCTOBER 2022

In October, russia staged an energy terror. Ukrainians were forced to consolidate to help shelters raise money for the necessary things to provide light, heat, and cooking in conditions of shelling of critical infrastructure. Brave Ukrainian soldiers continue to liberate our territories from the occupier. And volunteers and caring people went to de-occupied settlements to bring fodder to local animals.

24 258 animals

For the amount of

3 885 965 UAH

In October 2022:

● we managed to help 24 258 animals for 3 885 965 hryvnias. This amount included the payment of sterilizations and vaccinations, logistics, purchase and shipment of fodder, purchase of medicines and treatment, reconstruction of shelters, evacuation, expenses for the Natalia Popova and UAnimals Wild Animals Rescue Centre, and administrative costs.

● 25 612 kilograms of fodder were sent from our warehouse: 4 456 kilograms for horses, 20 878 kilograms for cats and dogs, and 268 kilograms for rodents and birds.

● we sterilized 1 165 animals as part of our free sterilization program for homeless cats and dogs;

● our legal department sent 6 appeals to state institutions, prepared a draft appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to international organizations on the condemnation of russia’s crimes against the environment and a draft Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the recognition of ecocide, three statements to law enforcement agencies on the fact of cruelty to animals, an appeal to Service for children, two letters of support for draft law No. 7438, provided consultations on animal protection issues that came to the hotline, dealt with other contracts, statements;

● we purchased fodder, treatment preparations, and medicines for 20 245 cats and dogs;

● we transferred funds for the purchase of fodder for 308 horses, 18 ponies, 63 cows, 25 sheep, and 6 goats;

● we transferred funds for the vaccination of 23 horses from the Cavalkada stable in Zaporizhzhia and the evacuation of 6 horses from Izium to Sumy region;

● we supported the White Rock Bear Shelter and donated money for the purchase of food for 5 bears and a she-wolf;

● Przewalski’s horse and a spotted deer were transported from the Natalia Popova and UAnimals Wild Animals Rescue Center to the Eco-Galych Ecosystem Conservation Center;

● we helped to provide food for 619 birds from the birds’ shelter of the Kazkova Dibrova complex in Kherson Oblast, the Misiachna Dolyna rehabilitation center in the Zhytomyr Oblast, the Township Nyushanikove in Kyiv Oblast, and the volunteer organization Children of the Air. Swifts and Bats in the Dnipro, and the Mezhyhirsky refuge for swans in Kyiv Oblast;

● we transferred funds to the Akela Centre in the town of Chuguiv, Kharkiv Oblast, which cares for 120 animals, some of which were evacuated from the affected areas of Kharkiv Oblast;

● we evacuated a dog and 11 puppies from Kostyantynivka, two dogs from Kramatorsk, a cat and 12 dogs from Sloviansk;

● we transported a raccoon that was kept at home and transferred it to the Natalia Popova and UAnimals Wild Animals Rescue Centre;

● we transported 11 cats rescued from Kherson to the Nosyky shelter in Kyiv, and also gave the institution money for their vaccination and treatment;

● we supported the NGO Every Animal, the vegan establishment Lviv vegan kitchen in Lviv, and the vegan restaurant Loopci in Kyiv preparing lunches and delivering vegan and vegetarian food for our military;

● we delivered 400 kilograms of fodder to Vovchansk and the village near it;

● we assisted in the transportation of 113 animals (turtles, birds, rodents, birds of prey, etc.) of the Jungle World mini-zoo, which evacuated its wards from Zaporizhzhia to Kamianets-Podilskyi due to shelling;

● we supported the animal rehabilitation center in Zhytomyr, which was damaged by a fire;

● we closed the fund-raising for the purchase of bulletproof vests and protective equipment for volunteers from Bakhmut;

● we launched the Portmone service;

● we launched a fund-raising for the quarantine premises of the Best Friends shelter with TM Pryroda;

● we launched a fund-raising for the preparation of shelters for the winter, a collection for the wintering centers for exotic birds of the Free Wings Rehabilitation Centre, and a collection for the kennels for Olena Bubenko’s animals in Ruski Tyshky;

● together with Silpo, we launched Psychological Support from Animals on the Silpo hotline;

● we launched a project with Animal ID;

● we launched a project with the Petslike pet store;

● we received an official UAnimals jar from Monobank;

● we appeared in the Raiffeisen Bank Aval application in the Charity section;

● we held in Warsaw the March to Save Animals from War in Ukraine and the online All-Ukrainian March to save animals from war;

● the Animals and War in Ukraine exhibition was held at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University.
