We dedicated this fundraiser to World Animal Day. On this day, the world is reminded of the importance of protecting and caring for animals. At UAnimals, we want to emphasize that at the heart of this lies humanity. Humanity means having so much love inside that it extends to fragile lives that cannot survive without our support.

Hundreds of animals live in shelters and rehabilitation centers — many injured and traumatized by shelling, others hurt in the wild through fights or human traps. Some were rescued from slaughter. Many are exhausted from hunger and thirst, while others suffer from chronic illnesses and need constant care. All of them need medication and regular treatment to live free from pain and suffering.

We are raising 286,571 UAH (~$6,942) for antibiotics, painkillers and antiseptics, parasite treatments, and sedatives that will allow us to safely care for and transport wild animals.

The following shelters will receive medications and treatments:

  • “Rifugio” — Kyiv region;
  • “Novyi Svit Kryvyi Rih” — Mykolaiv region;
  • “Wild Animals Rescue Center” — Kyiv region;
  • “Animal House Rescue” — Poltava region;
  • “Pegasus” — Dnipropetrovsk region;
  • “Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center” — Poltava region.

We will help over 500 rescued animals:

💊 Domestic animals – goats, sheep, horses, cows and bulls, pigs, ponies, donkeys, and camels
💊 Wild animals – wolves, foxes, raccoons, hedgehogs, deer, lions, tigers, lynx, and wild boars
💊 Exotic animals – chinchillas, degus, squirrels, and rabbits
💊 Birds – swans, owls, storks, peacocks, ducks, geese, chickens, and other bird species

Here are a few stories of animals living in these shelters and rehabilitation centers:

🦝 Kuzya the raccoon came from the Donetsk petting zoo. When it closed, most of the animals were given away for fur. Kuzya wasn’t taken — he was sick, nearly bald from scabies, and suffering from pancreatic problems. He was given to the shelter for free, as if no one expected him to survive.

“But we took him in, treated him — and now he’s a real handsome fellow,” says the team at Pegasus shelter.

🦢 Georgy the swan was brought from the Kirovohrad region with a broken wing. The team at Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center fought long and hard for his life and eventually succeeded in treating him.

At the beginning of summer, Georgy was released into a park lake, where he joined a large swan family. In August, he took off on his first journey — and a month later, he returned to his flock. Today, Georgy is swimming happily again alongside other swans at the rehabilitation center.

These animals have already been saved, but many others still need our help. Contribute any amount you can — together, we can create more stories with happy endings.
