Urgent fundraiser to help animals in the Kharkiv region

Three weeks ago, we launched a fundraiser to help animals in the Kharkiv region and received a bit more than 13 thousand dollars of donations from all of you. Thanks to this money, we managed to:

– transfer 2.5 tons of animal food to volunteers and shelters in the region (some of it has already been received, some is on the way);

– respond to the request of Dmytro Telyatnik, a volunteer from the village of Mala Danylivka, and helped him financially to buy veterinary medicines. He takes care of 200 dogs and 200 cats.

– sterilize 55 stray animals in the town of Kupyansk and the village of Pokotylivka;

– evacuate 3 cows and 2 bulls from the village of Pidlyman, as well as 26 dogs and puppies, 21 cats and kittens from the Kharkiv and partly from the Donetsk regions.

– schedule the evacuation of 10 horses from the town of Derhachi to the Kyiv region;

– schedule two more evacuation trips to the Kharkiv region (one is already in progress), as well as chipping, vaccination and sterilization of the evacuated animals;

– purchase additional pet food to distribute to local residents, who do not want to evacuate;

Our sterilization vehicle will also join the rescue effort: it will pick up animals from the evacuation team and bring them to shelters.

❗️❗️ We are now opening an additional fundraiser to keep the financial support coming. We want to continue evacuation trips as long as possible and provide as much animal food as we can to the people in the dangerous areas.

We also asked the Animal resque Kharkiv team what help they need, and we will purchase cages for evacuating animals and rabies vaccines for them.

Because of the shelling and russian offensive, we can no longer get to the villages and towns we visited just a week ago. People from the border area are being evacuated. As of today, almost 6,000 people have been evacuated from the region. Many of them need help with the evacuation of their animals, and the shelters and volunteers who remain in the region need the most basic necessities for survival.

Please support our fundraisers. It is a significant sum of money with significant needs, but lives are priceless, and tomorrow we may literally not be able to help them.
