Fundraiser to support wounded and critically ill animals affected by the war, 7.0

Thousands of pets have been left on the streets and are surviving on their own in frontline towns and villages. Without food and proper care, dogs and cats quickly catch infections, weaken, and fall ill. They also suffer from shrapnel wounds due to constant russian shelling.

Every week, we evacuate these animals at the request of soldiers or local residents. But after evacuation, they need treatment and rehabilitation.

We have launched a fundraiser — we need UAH 700,000 (≈$16,969) to pay for examinations, clinic stays, surgeries, tests, medicines, and spaying/neutering. Everything to reduce the suffering of animals.

Here are just a few stories of those whom we will help thanks to your donations:

Morty, a blind Yorkie, was abandoned in the frontline town of Dobropillia in the Donetsk region. A volunteer found him in the bushes. He was on a leash that had been weighed down with a stone. During the evacuation trip, we took Morty and brought him to a clinic.

Veterinarians said that he was deaf and had serious eye damage — cataracts, corneal ulcers, deep keratitis, and dry eye syndrome. In addition, Morty has chronic otitis and pododermatitis, an inflammation between the toes on his paws. The vets immediately began treatment. We really want Morty to recover and feel that he is no longer alone.

A dog named Gerda was found by a soldier in the town of Lyman. We took the animal during our evacuation trip to the Donetsk region. She was very exhausted — thin, dehydrated, barely able to stand on her legs. We took Gerda to a clinic in Dnipro.

The vets found tumors on her mammary glands. The dog underwent two surgeries to remove the tumors. In addition, Gerda has polyarthritis — her joints are severely affected and she can hardly stand on her hind legs.

Gerda is currently at the clinic, and her treatment is ongoing. The dog is being given IVs with painkillers to ease her condition.
