Fundraiser for Enclosures for Evacuated Dogs of the Druzi Space Organization

Please help us raise funds to build enclosures for the animals cared for by Druzi Space. This is organization that has been forced to evacuate its dogs from Kramatorsk as the front line is approaching. The front line is now just 10–15 kilometers away, and explosions are almost daily. The volunteers stayed as long as they possibly could, but they have now been forced to relocate the animals to safer areas.

So far, 30 dogs have been evacuated to the Zhytomyr region, and another 12 have been moved to the Kyiv region. However, there is a critical shortage of enclosures at the new locations. That is why we are raising UAH 205,500 (≈$4,670) to build eight enclosures — three in the Zhytomyr region and five in the Kyiv region. They will measure 2×2 and 2×3 meters, accommodating one or two dogs in the smaller ones and two or three in the larger ones. 

These structures will help create basic living conditions after animal evacuation. So that the animals do not live in cramped conditions, experience less stress, and can calmly adapt to their new surroundings. They are also needed to isolate sick or recently evacuated animals.

Among the animals in Druzi Space’s care are dogs that have survived trauma, illness, and abandonment. Here are a few of their stories.

Mona was hit by a car, and her caretaker abandoned her. A volunteer from the Druzi Space organization saw her at the hospital and took her to the shelter after her surgery. Today, Mona has recovered from her injury, runs around happily, and gets along well with the other dogs.

Another dog named Baba, was found lying near the entrance of an apartment building during –17°C weather. She suffered from severe allergies and swelling throughout her body. Baba has been receiving treatment for over four months. At first, she couldn’t even stand up, but now she’s running again. Baba struggles with being alone and constantly seeks human care and attention.

We have supported Druzi Space many times by providing food, cages, carriers, and doghouses. Now they need help once again. Your donation will help create safe and comfortable conditions for evacuated animals and support the volunteers who care for them every day.
