Fundraiser for Equipment for Veterinary Rooms in Shelters

We aim to equip veterinary rooms in shelters that take in evacuated animals from the frontline areas. This fundraiser will help shelters to get the necessary equipment and supplies.

Veterinary rooms are essential for shelter workers to treat both the permanent residents and newly arrived animals. Stray cats and dogs often suffer from illnesses, parasites, wounds, or injuries. All of them deserve high-quality and urgent veterinary care.

Treating animals in veterinary clinics can be very expensive and resource-intensive for shelters, so having an in-house veterinary room will allow them to provide help as quickly as possible.

To equip these veterinary rooms, we need to raise 226,000 UAH
(≈$5, 650).  We have already received requests from the various shelters.

1) For a veterinary room at the shelter Kotokhata in Kyiv, we plan to purchase:

— Two infusion pumps — electronic devices for intravenous drug administration, equipped with a special electronic system and a pump that allows the veterinarian to set the program and regulate the infusion rate of the required drug dose.

— A surgical diathermocoagulator — a device used for removing small skin neoplasms and stopping bleeding.

2) For the shelter Animal House Rescue in Kyiv, we will purchase an infusion pump, heating pads, and an IV stand.

3) We will purchase and deliver a veterinary table for Konotop Animal Protection Organization Animals Friends in the Sumy region.

4) The shelter Save the Lives in Khmelnytskyi needs a germicidal lamp, an examination table, a vaccine refrigerator, and an IV stand.

5) We received a request for a veterinary table from the NGO Ekozahust Starkon in the Khmelnytskyi region. 

6) For the shelter Myrnohrad Animals in the Kyiv region, we will get a germicidal lamp, a veterinary table, a vaccine refrigerator, an IV stand, an infusion pump, heating pads, and a sterilizer for medical instruments. This shelter was evacuated from the Donetsk region, so its workers are equipping the facility from scratch.

7) The charitable organization Phoenix of Ukraine in the Kyiv region needs a germicidal lamp, an IV stand, shelves and storage boxes for medicines, a vaccine refrigerator, scales, and a Wood’s lamp ( an ultraviolet light used for rapid dermatological disease diagnosis via photoluminescence.)
