Fundraiser for Evacuation and Medical care of Injured and Sick Animals

At one of our recent vet missions, UAnimals team evacuated goats from Zaporizhzhia region. A woman who contacted us had been rescuing these animals since the beginning of the full-scale war. Some of them were abandoned by their caretakers, while others were found by soldiers or handed over by people who had no way to take the animals with them. Now, as the front line has moved even closer, a new home has been found for the goats, further away from danger. And we are making the evacuation possible.

On every mission, we rescue dozens of animals, domestic and farm ones, and wildlife alike. Most of them are taken directly to vet clinics after evacuation, where they are examined, treated for parasites, vaccinated, sterilized, and getting surgeries if needed. Many animals are injured or wounded from shellings in frontline regions. They are exhausted or suffering from infectious diseases that require urgent care.

For example, puppies rescued during a recent mission at the request of soldiers are now being treated in a vet clinic. They were brought to the clinic with babesiosis. This is a blood parasite disease transmitted by tick bites. Sadly, two out of eight puppies did not survive.

A kitten rescued from Kramatorsk in Donetsk region at the request of soldiers is also being treated in the vet clinic. The animals were diagnosed with panleukopenia, a severe viral infection. Only one kitten survived, and they remain under veterinary care due to complications.

To continue rescuing animals from frontline areas and treating those we evacuate, we have launched a fundraiser for UAH 650,000 (≈$15,000). This money will go towards:

• fuel for evacuation vehicles;
• food and accommodation for the team during missions;
• evacuation supplies: food, hay, straw, diapers, cages, and carriers;
• medical care for rescued animals, including examinations, hospitalization, tests, surgeries, vaccinations, medication, feeding, and other necessary procedures. 

This is our 13th fundraiser for evacuation and treatment. We regularly go to towns and villages near active combat zones because we want to save as many lives as possible. Requests are not decreasing. In fact, they keep growing as the enemy advances.
