The cat Tara and her four newborn kittens were found by soldiers at positions between Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions. Tara had a prolapsed uterus, was suffering from severe bleeding, and was critically exhausted — she couldn’t even feed her kittens.

The animals were evacuated to a clinic in Dnipro. Doctors fought to save Tara’s life, performing blood transfusions, but tests revealed progressive leukemia, immunodeficiency, and severe anemia. Her condition rapidly worsened, and unfortunately, she couldn’t be saved. Due to exhaustion, three of the kittens also didn’t survive. Only one kitten remains ❤️‍🩹 Here’s how he looked when found and how he looks now:

The treatment for this family cost 99 293 UAH (~$2 366), which we were able to cover thanks to your donations in the previous fundraiser for the treatment of animals cared for by soldiers.

Thanks to you, we were also able to help the dog Roza. Soldiers found her hit by a car and immediately took her to the clinic. Doctors diagnosed plexitis — an injury to the nerve plexus, which causes partial or complete loss of control over the limb. At the clinic, Roza’s receiving treatment to restore the function of her paw: injured nerves are being treated, her wrist is being rehabilitated after prolonged spasm, and her sensitivity is gradually returning.

In frontline regions, soldiers often shelter many animals. Their wards get sick, injured, suffer from infections and exhaustion. Expensive treatment is something soldiers can’t afford on their own. Moreover, cats and dogs at these positions reproduce quickly, increasing the number of vulnerable animals in the war zone.

To help soldiers care for these animals, a fundraiser of 420 000 UAH (~$10 010) has been launched. This will cover treatment and sterilization of wards from eight frontline regions. This is already the sixth fundraiser for the treatment of animals cared for by soldiers, and each time we manage to help at least 50 animals.

To close this fundraiser as quickly as possible, we need your support. Contribute any amount you can — every donation matters.
