Fundraising for a stationary hospital for horses in Pegasus shelter

We reached the goal, thank you! The remaining amount needed to complete the fundraiser was provided by the Humane Society International fund.

The Pegasus shelter in the Dnipro region takes care of injured and sick horses. In addition to horses, there are also other domestic animals, cats, dogs and wild animals – more than 800 in total.

The first horses appeared in the shelter in 2013, and now there are 30 of them, all with special needs. They were used to work for people as “work horses,” but now they can’t – some because of age, some because of poor health.

Almost all of the animals were bought from their owners, who had given them to slaughter.

The horses are cared for and loved in the shelter, but their lives are marred by illnesses – unbearable pain in the hooves, wounds, suffocation attacks, and heart disease.

Help save horses from suffering from diseases and give them more memories of peace than pain.

We have launched a huge fundraising campaign for the Pegasus shelter in Dnipro, amounting to UAH 1 million 833 thousand. And we plan to build a hospital for sick animals with this money.

What are we planning to build?

It will be a specialized stable with large stalls so that horses can comfortably turn around and lie down. Doctors will be able to visit the animals and perform all the necessary manipulations on the spot.

For horses with leg injuries, such as the old horse Black or Kamila from Lysychansk, there will be a special coating. Thanks to it, the horses will be able to get up safely.

And for animals with respiratory problems, there will be ventilation to help avoid suffocation attacks.
