These goats, Borka and Lastivka, were evacuated from Zaporizhzhia. The house where they lived was hit by a russian missile. The people fled after the shelling, leaving behind everything they had, their belongings, animals, and their entire lives.

We evacuated Borka and Lastivka to Animal House Rescue shelter in the Poltava region.

Goat Boria has a congenital limb injury, so he walks on three hooves. But that doesn’t stop him from living a happy and fulfilling life. Next to Boria is goat Lastivka. A month after the evacuation, she gave birth to a baby.

We took cow Lipka from the Sumy region. This beautiful animal was kept not for profit but out of love. When the front line got too close, Lipka’s people began to prepare for evacuation and asked us to rescue the cow and find her a new home. It was difficult for the family to part with their animal. However, in addition to the cow, the family also had two dogs and two cats, which they planned to take with them.

Boar Pumba was kept to be eaten, and his relatives were bred for hunting. During one of the evacuation trips, UAnimals rescue team persuaded Pumba’s owners to give him up. That’s how the boar ended up at Animal House Rescue.

At first, Pumba couldn’t stand on his back legs, but after a week of treatment and care from the shelter staff, he was able to move around normally.

These are not all the animals cared for by Animal House Rescue shelter. There are also six horses, a calf, four goats, a pig, nine chickens, six geese, six ducks, seventy-five dogs, and forty-one cats living here.

We want to raise money to help the shelter care for the animals. We will purchase one ton of barley, half a ton of corn and wheat, and 1,920 bales of hay.

This will be enough for 8 months. Most importantly, the animals will not go hungry during the cold season, and will maintain a healthy weight, and will not freeze in winter.

A balanced diet affects the animals’ immune system, physical condition, behavior, and lifespan. They get sick less often and remain active and calm. If there is not enough food, it affects the condition of their fur, skin, and hooves.

Hay and grain are extremely important for cows, goats, and horses. Without grass and grain, their stomachs do not function properly. This food contains a lot of fiber that is necessary for normal digestion. Birds, chickens, ducks, and geese, have a fast metabolism and high mobility, so grain is a critically important source of calories for them.

Please support this cause! Every wing and hoof is important.
