Human Rights Initiative shelter from Dobropillia in the Donetsk region is forced to evacuate some of its animals. The front line is steadily approaching, and staying there has become extremely dangerous. The shelter remained in its hometown as long as it could, but now it has to find a safer place for the animals under its care.

The shelter is home to 82 dogs, as well as farm animals: cows, a pig, a sheep, a ram, and about 60 goats evacuated from the combat zone.

Volunteers have already managed to transport 19 dogs to the Kyiv region, and now most of the animals are being evacuated to the Odesa region. However, the new location lacks everything necessary for the animals to live normally in the shelter: enclosures, walking areas, and kennels.

That is why we have launched a fundraiser for UAH 270,000 (≈$6,545). We want to purchase and deliver 10 collapsible enclosures to give the dogs at least a minimum of comfort after what they have been through. One enclosure can house up to 3 dogs at a time.

This is what they will look like:

These enclosures can be easily disassembled, transported, and reassembled. Each has an area of about 6 square meters and consists of three walls, a front part with a gate, and a corrugated metal roof.

Enclosures are essential to ensure the dogs have their own space. There, the animals are protected from rain and heat, and they cannot get lost or run away.

We kindly ask you to support the fundraiser. Together, we can create comfortable conditions for the dogs and give them some peace after the stress they have experienced.
