The owners, who kept the tiger at a private yard, realized that the tiger needed appropriate conditions for a normal life, so they gave him to the Rescue Center.

The tiger is still timid and getting used to his new temporary home, but he is already exploring his new enclosure. At the Center, the predator is under the care of veterinarians, receiving proper nutrition and care while we search for a new home for him in a rehabilitation center with suitable conditions abroad.

The Wildlife Rescue Center of Natalia Popova and UAnimals is a temporary place for the treatment, rehabilitation, and search for new homes for wild animals.

Here’s what the Center does:

  • Evacuates wild and domestic animals from areas of conflict;
  • Treats and rehabilitates injured, traumatized, or sick animals;
  • Provides shelter for wild animals after evacuation from inadequate living conditions such as private zoos, menageries, circuses, and private estates;
  • Seeks shelter and permanent residence for animals with proper living conditions both in Ukraine and abroad;
  • Evacuates wild animals abroad.

Natalia Popova founded the Rescue Center in 2018 when she was asked to provide shelter for the seriously ill lioness Yana. She could not leave the lioness in distress and decided to create a center to help other animals in need. Since then, people from all over Ukraine have been turning to her for help.

During the full-scale invasion of Russia, Natalia’s center joined forces with @uanimals.official to save animals from dangerous and front-line areas.

During its existence, the center’s employees have saved over 600 wild, domestic, and exotic animals, including bears, lions, leopards, tigers, monkeys, deer, horses, donkeys, camels, foxes, raccoons, raccoon dogs, hedgehogs, peacocks, and even chickens.
