In the latest UAnimals mission in the Donetsk region, two teams of rescuers worked together to collect and distribute 61 animals in two stages. Due to heavy shelling in the Donetsk region, there are many evacuation requests from there.
Danyil Koval and Vlad Myachev went to Novozhelanne, near the front line. The dogs and cats from this town were transferred to a second vehicle. Volodymyr Bratushenko and Oleksandr Pohrebnyi then distributed them across central Ukraine. Meanwhile, Vlad and Danyil went to other towns and villages in the Donetsk region to collect more animals, which they then transported to their new homes in their own vehicle.
Fortunately, many animals were taken in by their caregivers.
Shultz the dog from Novozhelannoye was supposed to go to a shelter. However, his caregiver decided to take him to the Dnipropetrovsk region instead. She arrived at the meeting point by train and took Shultz home with her, saying the dog is also a memory of her husband.
Zhuk the dog moved from Novozhelannoye to Khmelnytskyi to join his family.
Three cats from Selydove went to their family, who met them in the Poltava region.
Gosha the dog went to the Kirovohrad region, where he was reunited with his caregivers.
Residents from Hirnyk asked for help with their cats. Although these cats were planned to be picked up on this mission, they were evacuated earlier by the organization “12 Guardians.” Later, UAnimals rescuers Sasha and Volodya delivered them to their family in the Kirovohrad region.
Despite these happy cases, many dogs and cats ended up in shelters. The shelters have limited space, but animals keep arriving.
UAnimals has launched a fundraiser to expand the capacity of three shelters:
– “Zoosimya” in Pavlysh, Kirovohrad region;
– “Abandoned Angel” in Khmelnytskyi;
– “Lesya’s Team of Zoo Volunteers” in Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region.
They plan to build additional enclosures to accommodate evacuated animals. Join in because every life matters!
