Shelters and volunteers who save hedgehogs can receive a grant of UAH 100,000.
On 9th May, AFP reported that journalist Arman Soldin was killed. The tragedy occurred as a result of a rocket attack near Chasovyi Yar, and the AFP colleagues witnessed the incident. Russians shelled the outskirts of the town. Chasiv Yar is located near Bakhmut, where the fiercest fighting has been going on for several months.
A week before the tragedy, Arman wrote to UAnimals English Instagram page and shared a video of how he and his colleagues rescued an exhausted hedgehog in a trench. He treated the animal and later released it into the wild. On 5th May, UAnimals edited and published this story based on Arman’s video on social media. It touched many of our subscribers.
When the news of Arman’s death broke, UAnimals decided to honour his memory and announced a grant.
According to the Institute of Mass Information, Arman Soldin is the 57th media representative killed by the occupiers and the 10th journalist killed by Russia during the full-scale war in Ukraine while performing his professional duties.
