UAnimals submits plant-based military menu to Ministry of Defence

On Tuesday, the founder of UAnimals, Oleksandr Todorchuk, presented 7 variants of plant-based rations for the military to the State Logistics Operator. The Ministry of Defense will review these proposals.

The meal options for military personnel adhering to a vegan or vegetarian diet were developed by UAnimals in collaboration with the public organization Every Animal. Dietitian Mark Shpara helped design the ration, ensuring each daily menu has sufficient nutritional value.

For lunch, soldiers on a plant-based diet are offered options such as pasta with tomato lentil sauce and vegetables, tofu vegetable soup, bean borscht with soy chops, or tofu vegetable ragout. All dishes can be prepared in approximately 10 minutes. Only chickpeas, green and brown lentils require more time.

UAnimals also proposed 7 variants of field dry rations. The kits include mixes for various porridges with soy meat, dried fruits, biscuits, and crackers.

Additionally, partners provided the State Logistics Operator with a list of 33 sublimated plant-based dishes, including mushroom borscht and pasta Bolognese.

It is also suggested to add to the menu vitamin D and B12.
