Team’s route together with volunteers passed through:

– Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Malotaranivka, Bilenke, Krasnohorivka, Yasnohirka, and Spaske in Donetsk region;

– Vilniansk, Kushuhum, Novomykolaivka, Komyshuvakha, Tavriiske, Huliaipole, and Zaporizhzhia in Zaporizhzhia region;

– Chaplyne, Vasylkivka, Pokrovske, and Synelnykove in Dnipropetrovsk region.

Thank you to the volunteers who respond to our requests and help evacuate animals from dangerous places.

Also in August, we transported 95 previously evacuated animals from clinics and foster homes to shelters and families.

1. The funds from this fundraiser were used for a scheduled post-operative examination, injections, and anti-inflammatory medications for a puppy named Fill. He was rescued from Kherson after shelling. The total cost was UAH 3,343 (≈$75).

2. We covered the treatment of seven animals cared for by soldiers, totaling UAH 36,739 (≈$824).

At a clinic in Kyiv region, five puppies received inpatient treatment. We paid for food, bathing, treatments, and medication administration.

In Zaporizhzhia, the dogs named Dasha and Kuka received assistance. For Dasha, we paid for inpatient care, therapy, and food, and for Kuka — inpatient care, treatments, injections, and food.

We were able to help the animals thanks to donations to this fundraiser.

3. We paid for veterinary care for two animals from front-line areas, totaling UAH 31,325 (≈$702).

For a cat from Konotop who was undergoing treatment at a partner clinic in Kyiv region, we paid for a computed tomography.

At a clinic in Kharkiv, we continued treatment for the dog named Zlata. For her, we paid for inpatient care, infusion therapy, wound treatment, care for newborn puppies, and food.

The funds were taken from this fundraiser.

4. We paid for the treatment of the dog named Dana, totaling UAH 27,500 (≈$616).

The house of her caretakers was hit by an aerial bomb in Shevchenkove village, Kharkiv region. The home was reduced to ruins, and Dana sustained severe injuries.

We paid for inpatient treatment, wound treatment, infusion therapy, intravenous administration of medications, catheterization, sterilization, and the necessary medical supplies.

5. During the Vetmission in Peremoha, Kharkiv region, held from 6 August to 8 August, 286 animals received assistance. UAH 461,514.14 (≈$10,343) were spent on conducting the mission. 244 animals were vaccinated against rabies and treated for parasites. Another 25 animals were separately vaccinated against rabies. The veterinarians provided 21 consultations and in eight cases provided additional treatment.

6. We paid for the treatment of seven animals cared for by soldiers, totaling UAH 20,507 (≈$460).

For five puppies, we paid for inpatient treatment, administration of medications, medicines, necessary procedures, and food.

In Zaporizhzhia, we continued treatment for the dogs named Dasha and Kuka. For Dasha, we paid for inpatient care, therapy, and food. Kuka underwent surgeries to remove a pin and a metal plate, as well as castration. We also paid for her inpatient treatment, injections, medications, and food.

The funds were taken from this fundraiser.

7. We paid for boarding, examinations, and veterinary care for 38 evacuated animals. UAH 212,973 (≈$4,773) were spent on this.

For the animals, we paid for treatments, medications, food, litter, and the necessary medical supplies. 17 animals were vaccinated, and two dogs were spayed. The invoice also included tests for giardiasis, suture treatment, issuance of veterinary passports, catheterization, injections, and anesthesia. One dog underwent a mastectomy, and an injured dog cared for by soldiers underwent surgery.

The funds were taken from this fundraiser.

8. We covered treatment of nine animals cared for by soldiers, totalling UAH 21,219 (≈$476).

For the dogs named Dasha and Kuka at a clinic in Zaporizhzhia, we paid for inpatient care, issuance of veterinary passports, and food. Both dogs have completed their treatment and have already been discharged from the clinic.

9. For five puppies, we paid for inpatient treatment, administration of medications, medicines, restraint, and food.

At a clinic in Kharkiv, veterinarians tried to save the cat named Iziumka, whom soldiers brought from Izium in critical condition. Testing confirmed panleukopenia. We paid for the examination, an express test, clinical and biochemical blood tests, and resuscitation measures. Unfortunately, Iziumka could not be saved.

We also helped the cat named Ryzhyk, who has diabetes and leukemia. For him, we purchased special therapeutic food and test strips for monitoring glucose levels.

The funds were taken from this fundraiser.

10. We paid for veterinary care for nine animals, totaling UAH 32,665 (≈$732).

At a clinic in Kharkiv, the dog named Zlata was in inpatient care together with seven puppies. We paid for treatment, care for the little ones, and food.

Also, we help to the kitten named Abrykosyk, who was found with a broken paw during a veterinary mission in Kharkiv region. We paid for his examination and consultation, a blood test, an X-ray, inpatient care, food, and the necessary medications.

The funds were taken from this fundraiser.

11. During the Vetmission in the village of Sharivka in Kharkiv region, held from 15 August to 19 August, 375 animals received assistance. UAH 446,635.71 (≈$10,010) were spent on conducting the mission.

308 animals were vaccinated against rabies, microchipped, and treated for parasites. Another 42 animals separately received rabies vaccinations, and 18 received comprehensive vaccination. The veterinarians provided 18 consultations and in 17 cases provided additional treatment.

UAH 181,190.30 (≈$4,061) were covered thanks to the “Lapka Turboty” charitable initiative. The rest of the funds were raised thanks to the support of donors.

12. We paid for veterinary care for five evacuated animals, totaling UAH 103,052.50 (≈$2,310).

The cat named Nik was evacuated from Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, with a large wound on his neck. We paid for inpatient care, tests, wound treatment, injections, medications, and other procedures. We spent UAH 10,467.50 (≈$235).

The dog named Alfred was evacuated at the request of his caretakers. At that point, the dog had not eaten for about a week and could not get up. An examination showed that the bowel loops were significantly dilated and filled with dense masses. Alfred urgently underwent intestinal resection, but his exhausted body did not survive the surgery. Unfortunately, the dog could not be saved. We spent UAH 13,188 (≈$296).

The cat named Morse was evacuated from Zaporizhzhia region at the request of soldiers. We paid for his inpatient care, castration, examination, tests, ultrasound, testing for toxoplasmosis, and tests for feline immunodeficiency virus and leukemia. We spent UAH 17,130 (≈$384).

The cat named Dzhorti was evacuated at the request of soldiers from Kharkiv region in critical condition. We paid for the examination, inpatient care, ultrasound, X-ray, tests, express tests, and the necessary procedures. We spent UAH 58,730 (≈$1,316).

For the cat named Fialka, whom our team evacuated from Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, we paid for the examination, ultrasound, tests, and express tests for panleukopenia and giardiasis. We spent UAH 3,537 (≈$79).

The treatment of Nik, Alfred, and Dzhorti was paid for thanks to donations to this fundraiser. Veterinary care for the other animals, we cover for thanks to the support of partners.

13. We paid for the treatment of four animals, totaling UAH 87,401 (≈$1,959).

For the dog named Stasik from Sumy region, who has ear problems, we paid for an examination, general and biochemical blood tests, an X-ray, a histological examination, collection of pathological material, sedation, medications, and the necessary medical supplies.

For the kitten named Pusya from Sumy region, we paid for an examination, a blood test, a test for panleukopenia, catheter placement, and medications.

For the dog named Fantik, we covered inpatient treatment, a computed tomography, post-operative wound treatment, administration of medications, medicines, medical supplies, and food.

The assistance for Stasik, Pusya, and Fantik was covered for thanks to donations to this fundraiser.

We also continued treatment for the dog named Bimal, who is cared for by soldiers. We paid for his inpatient care, chemotherapy, general and biochemical blood tests, castration, catheter placement, administration of medications, medicines, medical supplies, and food. The funds were taken from this fundraiser.

14. We paid for the treatment of the dogs named Malysh and Dik, totaling UAH 33,089.30 (≈$742).

Malysh was evacuated from Druzhkivka, Donetsk region. At the clinic, the animal underwent a heart examination, follow-up tests, and an X-ray of the teeth, and we also paid for inpatient care. Separately, we covered an examination, sedation, surgery to remove teeth, catheterization, and post-operative stay in inpatient care. In total, UAH 21,594.30 (≈$484) were spent on assistance for Malysh. After treatment, the dog went to the Fenix shelter.

Dik was evacuated from Novomykolaivka in Zaporizhzhia region. Soldiers found the burned and injured dog in a yard after a Russian shelling attack. We paid for Dik’s inpatient care, examinations, blood tests, castration, debridement, vaccination, treatments, and the necessary medical supplies. We spent UAH 11,495 (≈$258).

Dik’s treatment and part of Malysh’s veterinary care were paid for thanks to donations to this fundraiser.

15. We paid for the treatment of five animals rescued by soldiers, totaling UAH 187,677.65 (≈$4,206).

The dog named Zhasmin was brought to a clinic in Dnipro with a fracture. We paid for her inpatient treatment, osteosynthesis surgery, wound treatment, sedation, injections, catheterization, tests, an X-ray, examinations, medications, and food.

Two puppies with suspected viral disease also completed a full course of treatment. We paid for inpatient care, veterinary examinations, infusion therapy, diagnostics and express tests, treatment for parasites and wounds, vaccination, medications, food, and the necessary medical supplies.

The dog named Lagerda was handed over for treatment by a soldier because of tumors. For Lagerda, we paid for inpatient care, sterilization and mastectomy, anesthesiology support, post-operative wound treatment, blood tests, a test for dirofilariasis, an examination, and medications.

Another dog named Raya, was also handed over by soldiers. For her, we paid for inpatient treatment, an examination, catheter placement, administration of medications, medicines, and the necessary medical supplies.

16. We covered the treatment of four evacuated animals for a total of UAH 116,491 (≈$2,611).

During the evacuation from Synelnykove, Dnipropetrovsk region, our team noticed two kittens in critical condition. They were immediately taken to a clinic in Dnipro. Unfortunately, one kitten could not be saved. The other one named Malia remained under the supervision of veterinarians and continued treatment. We paid for hospitalization, medications, and necessary medical supplies. We spent UAH 13,860 (≈$311).

The dog named Tsyhan was found by the soldiers in an empty house in Sloviansk, Donetsk region. During the examination, veterinarians discovered an old injury. We paid for an X-ray, examination, hospitalization, blood test, tick removal, injections, catheterization, vaccination, treatment, and necessary medical supplies. We spent UAH 28,980.50 (≈$650).

The dog named Sashko was evacuated from Kharkiv region to the Pegas shelter. Later, the staff noticed that the dog could barely put weight on his hind leg and was in severe pain. The examination showed that a previously installed metal plate had not taken root and caused inflammation. Sashko received a blood test, sedation, plate removal, suture treatment, bacteriological testing, administration of medications, and medical supplies. We spent UAH 65,650.50 (≈$1,471).

We also continued treating the dog named Dana, who was injured as a result of a russian aerial bomb hitting her caretakers’ house. We paid for hospitalization, wound treatment, and therapeutic food in the amount of UAH 8,000 (≈$179).

The money for the treatment of all these animals was taken from this fundraiser.

1. During the Vetmission in Peremoha, Kharkiv region, we spayed/neutered 244 animals.

2. During the Vetmission in Sharivka, Kharkiv region, we spayed/neutered 308 animals.

3. We covered spaying/neutering and microchipping of one animal at a partner clinic in Kharkiv. The total cost was UAH 1,650 (≈$37).

4. We covered spaying/neutering, rabies vaccination, and microchipping of 83 animals in Donetsk region. The total cost was UAH 101,150 (≈$2,267).

5. We covered spaying/neutering, rabies vaccination, and microchipping of 18 animals, including 16 in Kharkiv region and two in Dnipropetrovsk region.

We also covered spaying/neutering and microchipping of 25 animals, including 13 under the care of the Pegas public organization and 12 under the care of the Dream in the Palms charitable foundation.

In total, 43 animals received assistance. The total cost was UAH 78,555 (≈$1,761).

1. We provided assistance to shelters and organizations. We delivered:

– 100 kilograms of food to the Cat House shelter in Zhytomyr region, which cares for 226 animals;

– 260 kilograms of food to the Mini Shelter — Dobre Serce;

– 100 kilograms of food to the Taliko charitable foundation, which cares for 73 animals in Dnipropetrovsk region;

– 50 kilograms of food to the Myrnohrad Animals shelter in Kyiv region, where 436 animals live;

– 254 kilograms of food to the Hostomel shelter in Kyiv region;

– 331 kilograms of food to the Favorite Animal shelter in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, where homeless and front-line-evacuated animals are rescued and treated;

– 400 kilograms of food in two shipments to the House of Animal Rescue shelter in Poltava region, which cares for 76 dogs and 40 cats;

– 230 kilograms of food for about 200 animals under the care of the 33 Khvosty charitable foundation;

– 270 kilograms of food to the Bakhmut Society for the Protection of Animals Lada public organization, which cares for more than 200 dogs;

– 680 kilograms of food to the Sirius shelter, where a fire broke out in early August. The fire destroyed the kitchen, the workshop, feed supplies, and eight animals died as a result of the fire. We spent UAH 50,048 (≈$1,122) on feed for the shelter’s 340 wards;

– feed and mixed feed for birds under the care of the Center for the Rescue and Rehabilitation of Wild Animals and the Sadyba Niushanik organization. We spent UAH 69,470.75 (≈$1,557);

– UAH 180,000 (≈$4,034) to the New World Kryvyi Rihfoundation to purchase a supply of hay for 67 rescued animals.

2. We helped animals under the care of soldiers. We handed over 921 kilograms of dry food and 85 packages of wet food, as well as at least 103 antiparasitic treatments. Animals in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Mykolaiv regions received assistance.

3. We handed over food during veterinary missions:

– during the Vetmission in the village of Peremoha in Kharkiv region, from 6 to 8 August, we handed over 321 kilograms of food for local cats and dogs;

– during a Vetmission in the village of Sharivka in Kharkiv region, from 15 to 19 August, we distributed 352,5 kilograms of food, including 148,5 kilograms for dogs and 204 kilograms for cats.

1. We provided the Zoodopomoha shelter with UAH 471,343.05 (≈$10,564) for the installation of a roof over eight enclosures. Thank you for supporting the fundraiser for the roof.

2. Thanks to our donors, this fundraiser provided access to water for two shelters. We purchased a pump for the Pokynutyi Anhel organization and paid for drilling a well for the Mini-shelter — Dobre Sertse. We spent UAH 250,924.05 (≈$5,624).

3. Thanks to your support of this project, we purchased 54 shade nets and fasteners for 11 shelters and rehabilitation centers. 2,328 animals received assistance. We spent UAH 239,810.21 (≈$5,375).

1. 50 volunteers joined a cleanup in the Kuyalnytskyi National Nature Park in Odesa region. Together they cleared the area of 32 tonnes of garbage.

2. 10 volunteers helped distribute 2,337 kilograms of feed and 2,229 treatments for animals in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

3. A volunteer designer helped create information posters for cleanups in national parks.

4. Nine volunteers took part in cleanups at two shelters in Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions.

5. Volunteers across Ukraine place water for stray animals and helped them survive the heat.

The International Renaissance Foundation provided UAnimals with UAH 1,770,000 (≈$39,669) for the project “Stop Ecocide Ukraine: Ukraine’s Voice at Global Environmental Forums.” The grant covers preparation for and participation in the UN climate conference, an analytical opinion on international law, informational art objects, and publications about ecocide in international media.

1. We sent 16 appeals regarding cases of animal cruelty.

2. We initiated pre-trial investigation into the fact of illegal hunting on the territory of a regional landscape park in Chernihiv region.

3. We received refusal rulings in ten cases:

– regarding possible animal cruelty on the territory of Odesa Zoo;

– regarding the keeping of wild animals on the territory of Kontakt Park in Uzhhorod;

– regarding the activities of the pet store Zhyvyi Kutochok in Chernivtsi;

– regarding possible animal cruelty at the Animal Park contact zoo in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv;

– regarding the possible leaving of a horse to die in Zakarpattia;

– regarding the possible improper keeping of animals at the ZooHub zoo space in Bucha, Kyiv region;

– regarding the possible sale and transportation of puppies by a scheduled bus;

– regarding the improper keeping of horses in Lviv region;

– regarding possible cruelty to a bat in Poltava;

– regarding the probable improper keeping of animals on the territory of the Piskivske enterprise in Chernihiv region.

4. Police drew up an administrative protocol against a man who gave a hedgehog vodka in Volyn region.

5. In a criminal proceeding over the abuse of a cat in Odesa, a man was given a preventive measure in the form of detention.
