UAnimals activists organized an international performance, adding tears to animal statues in 4 European cities. In doing so, they reminded the world of the ecocide that Russia perpetrates daily.
According to UAnimals’ concept, the stone animals were brought to tears by the eco-crimes that nature suffers due to Russian aggression in Ukraine. War doesn’t only kill people, but also animals, plants, and destroys the natural environment.
Currently, in Ukraine, 600 animal species and 750 plant species are under the threat of extinction. Furthermore, one-fifth of the protected areas are in danger.
The performance in support of these animals took place at the following locations:
📍Animals in War Memorial , London (United Kingdom);
📍 Stone bear near the Church of Our Lady of Grace, Warsaw (Poland);
📍 Monument to Abandoned Animals, Valencia (Italy);
📍 Figure of a goat on the eco-trail of Monserrate, Sintra (Portugal).
The monuments to ‘crying’ animals in Europe symbolize empathy and solidarity with Ukraine, expressing support in the fight against ecocide. Therefore, we call on people worldwide to stand in solidarity.
