On Wednesday, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Netherlands will present the art project Tree of Life: Ecocide, Loss, and Hope in The Hague. Visitors will be shown an exhibition of artworks, supplemented by UAnimals’ photographs documenting ecocide in Ukraine.
The exhibition brings together works by four artists. One of them is the renowned landscape artist Ivan Selishchev, who passed away in 2011. The other three are portrait and still-life artist Olga Babak, designer and graphic artist Olga Ottenheim, and Dutch artist Rik ten Velden, known for his designs of industrial objects.
The project urges Europeans to recognize how war ruthlessly destroys the nature of Ukraine. At the same time, the image of the tree of life, chosen as the symbol of the exhibition, serves as a reminder: life is invincible.
Let’s talk about ecocide in the world — russia must be held accountable for the devastated ecosystems!
