FUNDRAISER FOR THE TREATMENT OF SEVERELY SICK LION CUBS FROM THE DONETSK REGION

Recently, two exhausted, ill and helpless lion cubs from the Donetsk region were evacuated to the “Natalya Popova and UAnimals Wild Animal Rescue Center”. During their medical examination, it was found that their intestines are completely blocked and because of this they are in a critical condition.

According to the results of the examination, the lion cubs were most likely fed with ordinary bones, which has led to such severe health consequences for the babies. Both are underdeveloped for their age (they are 6-7 months old, but look like they’re only 2), because they did not get proper care and nutrition, and furthermore, one of the cubs is also blind.

The lion cubs are now in intensive care under constant supervision, on droppers and injections to pull them out of their critical condition. Operative intervention at this stage is contraindicated, because their weakened bodies may not be able to cope with the shock. Therefore, veterinarians are currently fighting for their lives as best as they can using non-surgical methods.
