Employees of the Chernobyl Biosphere Reserve are installing artificial nesting boxes for endangered birds. Anyone can donate towards a birdhouse on the UAnimals website.
There are fewer old trees with natural hollows in the reserve than needed for the reproduction of the European roller, the common goldeneye, and the stock dove. There are very few left: only up to 10 pairs of European roller and the same number of stock doves. The common goldeneye currently does not nest in the reserve but only migrates over marshes and forests. However, you can change the situation by becoming a sponsor of a spring “apartment” for the birds.
